Qwendolyn N. Brown is a business savvy transactional attorney representing clients in sophisticated commercial transactions and real estate matters in the District of Columbia, Virginia and Maryland. Ms. Brown has over 22 years of experience advising on commercial contracts and real estate transactions involving the construction, finance and development of large-scale commercial projects in the DMV. 

She has a proven track record in successfully advising, structuring and negotiating complex commercial and financial transactions. Ms. Brown has worked in the private sector with large and small law firms, as well as for several agencies in the District of Columbia government, including 7 years at the DC Housing Authority where she honed her expertise in Affordable Housing LIHTC transactions and worked on various issues involving subsidized housing. She also brings a wealth of experience in higher education law from her prior stint as in-house counsel for American University.

Ms. Brown obtained her LL.M. degree in Securities and Financial Regulation from Georgetown Law Center, her Juris Doctor degree from Texas Southern University’s Thurgood Marshall School of Law and her Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication Studies from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

She is currently serving as a Planning Commissioner for Prince William County, Virginia, where she reviews land use development and zoning applications for all development projects in the county.

In addition to her transactional and real estate development expertise, Ms. Brown also handles matters involving risk management and insurance law, FERPA compliance and regulatory issues and FOIA matters.

Ms. Brown is a licensed to practice in the District of Columbia, Georgia, Maryland (Pending), and in the U.S. District Court in DC.
